"Please reinstall base game" error on clean install - Sims 3 Complete Collection Empty "Please reinstall base game" error on clean install - Sims 3 Complete Collection

Post by Guest Fri 14 Sep 2018, 04:18

Hi. I reformatted my PC the other day and downloaded The Sims 3 Complete Collection from the G4TW magnet link. Installation went perfectly, everything including additional missing components installed, no errors on that end. I cannot play, though. It asks that I reinstall the base game. The installation instructions note that I do not need to place any cracks or replace any .dll files. Given that this is literally a "mount, install, go" deal, there isn't room for error in terms of actually having installed the game. The base game is automatically version 1.67.2. I have no retail copies of any Sims product installed on my PC and never have. 64-bit system. Installation folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3

Thank you for the help. Eager to play.

Sorry for the late @Alyssandra,

I never downloaded this thing myself, and to be honest I am not a great fan of these automated all-in-one installers. The only real thing I can think of right now is that your download got messed up. It tends to be rare with torrents, but it happens from time to time. If you are still seeding the download, look for an option that says "force re-check" in your torrent client. This will take a while to complete.

When done though, please try re-installing the game again.

If all fails, consider a re-download with a different torrent client. If you are using uTorrent, also consider switching to something else like qBittorrent, Tixati, or even BitComet.
