Sims 3 Unplayable due to lag Empty Sims 3 Unplayable due to lag

Post by Guest Sun 30 Sep 2018, 13:46

the game is unplayable due to it being so so laggy. when i move the camera or try and get my sim to do anything, it takes agessss because it's soo slow. I remember playing the Sims 3 with most EP's  on a really old laptop and it ran ok. My laptop hasn't got the best specs but is certainly enough to run the Sims.

My laptop runs the sims 4 perfectly fine, minimal loading screens, barely any lag with 6gb of Mods. So I don't think it is my laptop.

I've downloaded NRAAS's master controller and over watch that helps lag and organises the town. That hasn't done anything.

I've tried lowering the resolution, lowering the graphic settings to nearly the lowest, nothing WhatDidUJustCallMe?

I really want to play the Sims 3 because to me the Sims 4 is an overall bore. Sims 3 is much better and I used to play it for years.

Hello,

It shouldn't (directly) affect lagging, but check out this here as well:
https://www.games4theworld.club/t21716-excessive-frame-rendering-in-the-sims-3-updated-on-16-12-2015

This article is based on an NVIDIA graphics card (mine), and depending on your own hardware you may need to do additional research on your own to enable vertical sync. Also download the 4GB patch and apply it to the TS3W.exe, in your C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin location.

If you have a 64-bit Windows system and at least 4GB of RAM, the 4GB patch should help a little. Other than that: "thanks" to EA not really bothering about The Sims 3, you have a game that is in principle good, but from a technical standpoint poorly optimized. I have a desktop PC with an AMD FX-8350 Eight-core CPU, an NVIDIA GTX 1050Ti, and 16GB of RAM.

So far I'm not feeling any (positive) differences compared to my old PC that had just 4GB of RAM, an ancient Intel i3 and an NVIDIA GeForce GT330.

Should give you an impression that not even having a strong computer guarantees fluid game performance in The Sims 3.
