Experiencing some issues with Sims 4 since Update

I've been having some problems with my sims not working correctly. It was all of the sudden when my sim stopped being able to fill her energy bar without having to drink a sleep restoration potion from the aspiration store. I have tried moving the bed, buying new beds, and trying to spray for monsters. The sim will sleep for a short while and then wake up, and her bar will go from half back down to the bottom.

My two sim household also won't eat at tables or in chairs unless instructed to do so. They just eat in front of the refrigerator. I heard that it might be a bug and if you move the fridge away from the corner it should prevent that from happening, but that did not help.

any suggestions for fixing these problems?

Try starting the game without mods.

If that doesn't help, run the validator and post the result here.

There is nothing wrong with your installation.
Just to clean up you could delete the folder Game__

Are you using mods/scripts in your game ?

Cool.

I might be using a few mods. Their odd behavior is on and off, and sometimes they do other weird things, like lagging, or resetting themselves randomly

Move Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 folder to desktop. Start the game, close it, copy saves directory from folder on desktop to the one in Documents. If you still have this problem, then your saves are corrupted.

Now one of my sims won't sleep. They keep waking up. I've tried selling and rebuying the bed, and restarting my game.
I guess I'll have to try resetting the game folder. That really sucks, I've had to do this before. Why does this keep happening when I play a family too long?

The only cause I can think of is using mods compiled for earlier/later version of the game, or some mods that are not compatible with each other, and then saving the game. That corrupts the save.

You gotta remember. If you want to install most up-to-date mods, you have to update your game to the last available version first. And this works the other way too. If you update your game, look for updates for mods. If there's no confirmation that some mod works with new game version it's better not to use it.

Have you never used any mods on that save? Like I said, that's the only thing I can think of. Maybe others have something to add.

All I can suggest is next time make save backups and when you see something's wrong - close the game without saving and start the game clean, with only saves folder from previous Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. And if the problem persists - restore previous saves.
