The EP01, EP02, etc. are simply codes for each DLC. A list can be found at the beginning of the TS4 Must-Read, for example:
https://www.games4theworld.club/t21806-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-4-correctly
Or on other places of the internet.
Also, don't merge the DRM-free (=cracked) stuff into your Origin installation. It's just going to destroy the legit files, meaning you can't access the Gallery anymore.
Do it like me. My Origin installations are by default under C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4. My G4TW stuff is located under C:\Program Files\The Sims 4. It's best to keep these two versions of The Sims 4 strictly separate...

Re: Is it risky trying merge cracked updates with the original game. [SOLVED]
You could keep it like me:
1. rename your cracked "Game" folder to "Game-cracked"
2. install the game through Origin (it should validate the files and download just the original "Game" folder)
3. disable automatic updates
And that's it. When you run the cracked game remember to close the Origin completely. If you're going to use legit game just for downloading from gallery then you don't have to do anything with folder in Documents. If you want to play on legit version - it's better to keep saves separate. There's a guide for it somewhere.
When there's a new update - don't download it immediately. Wait for the crack. Then Download it from Origin, delete "Game-cracked" folder, download "Game" folder from G4TW, extract it, rename to "Game-cracked" and then move to your installation directory.
The only difference between "Game" and "Game-cracked" folders will be the crack: codex.cfg, OrangeEmu.dll, OrangeEmu64.dll, TS4.exe, TS4_x64.exe. Origin won't delete your DLCs, it can't detect those are pirated because no file differs from original version.

Re: Is it risky trying merge cracked updates with the original game. [SOLVED]
Pirated and original versions in one and the same folder (saving a lot of disk-space)
With @Anadius and my system (having pirated and original versions in the same folder),the difficulty lies in installing the Original as this goes by default to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4.
When you have The Sims 4 installed from G4TW downloads an entry is made in the register of your PC leading to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. Origin will follow that path inspite of the fact that you moved your pirated The Sims 4 out of Electronic Arts.
You must remove that register-entry.
Then open Origin -> Application Settings -> Advanced -> Downloaded Games
Change the location to the location of your pirated Game, f.e. C:\Program Files\The Sims 4 (don't add the words The Sims 4), so just type C:\Program Files.
In your install folder of the pirated The Sims 4 copy the folder Game and rename that copy Game_cracked.
Now install the genuine Origin based The Sims 4.
Remember:
You play the Origin game via Game\Bin\TS4.exe or TS4_x64.exe. Don't save the game. When finished close Origin as well
You play the pirated version via Game_Cracked\Bin\TS4.exe or TS4_x64.exe
Both versions share the same progress file in User\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 so never ever save a session played in the Origin version.
Galery-items are immediately available in your pirated game.
Why not save an genuine Origin session
As you only have the base game from Origin additional items from other pirated DLC's used in your pirated version will get lost.
Basically only use the genuine version for access to the Gallery.
Beware:
When you update with a new DLC from G4TW copy all files/folders except Game from the download to your install-folder.
Then Open Game in the download, copy the folder Bin and paste it in Game_cracked.
You can safely update via Origin as this will not affect Game_cracked
Possible version errors:
Open Game\Bin, copy the file Default and paste it in Game_cracked\Bin.

Re: Is it risky trying merge cracked updates with the original game. [SOLVED]
While the above-mentioned method is the most efficient one (by far), I would still recommend to keep two separate installations of the game ... if you can afford the filespace.
Pretty sure the average Sims player or PC user is going to be too confused by the folder meddling. Again, for people who know what they're doing just having a bunch of "Game"-folders is certainly the most efficient one. Whether that attribute applies to the average Sims player though, is an entirely different question. I don't think it does apply.

Having 2 different installation locations is much simpler.
Anyway never save a game-session played in the Origin version
