DDR RAM
Hello,
Since it'll be a while before I get to buy a new pc, I was thinking of upgrading what I have just a little bit. I have 1GB RAM at the moment, 2x256mb modules and 1 512 module, so I've been thinking of removing the 2 smaller ones and replacing them with 1GB modules. That should probably make a lot of difference in my case.
Anyway, they're kind of hard to come by obviously and I was wondering if anyone can tell me where I can get the best deals. This is what my motherboard can handle: 3 x 184-pin DIMM Sockets support max. 3GB DDR400/DDR333/DDR266 ECC/non-ECC un-buffered DDR SDRAM memory.

Re: DDR RAM
Hello,
I just did a quick look, but what about this: http://www.computerland.nl/a/geheugen_intern/15311352/corsair_value_select_1gb_400mhz_pc_3200/details.aspx ?
I wonder why it is so expensive, compared to other (newer) RAM modules...

Re: DDR RAM
Hello,
I noticed that as well, when I looked on Alternate, the cheapest 1gb module was €21,99. In a 2x2 valuepack, the total cost is €39,99

Hello,
I'm in The Netherlands
But I think between the price of the module and the price of stamps it would be better to buy it here.
Nice one with Google translate

Re: DDR RAM
Well, you mentioned you were from the US at some point, and Google translate is nice but definitely not flawless. Here I'll show you:
I am Lady Eldi and I love playing The Sims 3. It is a game where I can spend many hours along with house building and the redirection of the sim families. I also played the original Sims, The Sims 2, The Sims Stories and The Sims: Urbz in the city through an emulator.
Furthermore, I love strategic games and adventures such as the Elder Scrolls series. The latter I would never download, but a game like the Sims, which in itself is very entertaining, but also gives much trouble and really just sheer geldklopperij by the cost of all individual extensions and then all € 's that you would Sims can spend in the store. I have always downloaded my Sims games.
Its actually not that bad at all. But as you can see there are some things about that text that are not quite right. Google translate is good for general chit chat such as this, but I used it to guide me as I was translating a brochure for work that was full of technical blabber and I got some very weird translations. The brochure was from a manufacturer of aircompressors describing different kinds of units. The lubricated aircompressor in particular made me LOL, since it was translated as a condom aircompressor.

Re: DDR RAM
Totally off topic, I apologise,
DDR1 Ram is more expensive due to mass DDR3 RAM being sold, the components needed to make DDR1 is basically obsolete, not many people make that stuff anymore, forcing people with older PC's to upgrade. DDR2 is becoming more expensive too

Re: DDR RAM
Sure Ebay is an option, Dutch Ebay lol. Isn't that stuff all used?
Anyway, sure I know loads of people in the US. But what about the cost for shipping? And what if it breaks during the journey?
Anyways, I'm not sure I'll upgrade this pc anymore. It's not off the table entirely, but I'm not sure.

Re: DDR RAM
I was just thinking the low cost of the memory over here would offset the shipping cost over to you.........
90% is mostlikely used.....but i have bought some used and its been fine.......

Re: DDR RAM
Maybe try a UK company - mrmemory.co.uk its quite good and tells you the specific RAM needed for your machine
