My external hard drive insn't "responding"
So we went through the process with isnatlling the Sims 3 on my external hard drive.
Everything was working perfectly until...
It stopped opening up when I try to access it, and my Sims game does not open either, so I tried removing it, plugging back in, shut off laptop, plugged it back in, and nothing seems to work... I hate to be a bother but it is agitating the hell out of me.
sorry for responding back so late, i lost internet for a little while.
However, no i did not scan anything and i don't think my laptop did anything either
it worked two times afterwards but its doing it again, and i don't know what it is...
also it will ask me to "format disk" which doesn't do anything anyway. i don't know

Hello,
Is there any chance you (or your laptop) did a scan (and fix) for missing registry entries while your external HD was unplugged or otherwise inaccessible by your laptop at the time?
If that could've occurred, it's possible that the registry has been cleaned up which is causing your current problems.

Re: My external hard drive insn't "responding"
Hello,
If you did use the "Format now" option, all data has been removed from the disc. (Formatting means removing all data from the disc)
Though, it's still possible to recover some data, but it's going to be a hell of a job, especially if you used that option a few times.

Hello,
What do you want to do at this point?
Recover the data or set up the hard disc as a new one.

Hello,
You connect it via USB, right?

Hello,
Perhaps you can catch Admin in the chatbox during the evening or weekends, it'll be easier to discuss this "live" I presume.
You're in the same time zone, so it shouldn't be too challenging to see him in the chatbox at a reasonable time.
