PC Shutting off mid-game

It has happened with both the Sims 3 & the Sims Medieval. It's definitely not my laptop overheating. It just clicks off without warning about 20 minutes into the game. This has never happened before, I used to be able to play for hours (lol) without there being any issues. Is there anything I can do about it? Maybe clear up some space on my harddrive? I use GameBooster when playing btw

Secondly, do you use any Mods or Custom Content?

The website says I pass all of the requirements (I ran a test for The Sims 3). I have no mods, but I do have custom content, a few lots & some of the Store Updates that you guys provide on your Mediafire account. Also, I've been getting asked on the launcher if I want to download a patch for my Sims 3 Store content, should I download it?
