Unable to start TS3 Launcher - "There was an error during setup"

Hello all!

Recently I tried opening my TS3 launcher and was given the error "There was an error during setup. Please see the log for more details". I have all EPs and SPs and the game is patched to 1.34 (everything completely updated). I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Origins, updating my Microsoft Network frame, cleaning world caches etc., and updating my graphics card. There was a recent disturbance in my internet and doing a scan for malware I found that my Lucky Palms was infected, so I uninstalled it via launcher. I did not have internet when I uninstalled, but when everything was fixed, that is when the error started to appear. I have removed all of my .package files, but still nothing. I'm not sure if there is a way to remove the .sims3pack files not using the launcher, and I'm not even sure that would help?

The forums I have found trying to resolve this issue are either too old or those suggestions are not working either.

Help please? I'd be so grateful!

i have the same problem, ive dragged and dropped the sims 3 folder from my documents to my desktop tried to launch the game and it did not work,
