Le Cinema Plumbob - Frozen screen

Hi,
I just downloaded the Le Cinema Plumbob from the mediafire account, loaded into the game fine (no problems so far), Opened game placed the lot (fine), then i sent my teen on the date there and when he bought a ticket from the booth it froze after i hit the "Buy Items" button. I still have the classical music in the background and the cursor is spinning like it's loading but that's it nothing just stuck with the shopping list screen up for like 5 mins now.
Any ideas please? I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to these kinds of things.

Edit: Ok so i managed to get out of it by pressing "Esc" but it means my sims cant buy tickets. Any ideas on this problem? lol thanks

I have some mods but i don't see which one could be interfering :\. I'll remove them and give them a go later and let you know.
