Rundll32 error. [SOLVED]
I have Win 7 Ultimate X 64 installed and had it for quite awhile. I used the "Upgrade Anytime" in the Control Panel about 4 months ago.
Everything been alright so far then yesterday I started getting the pop-up of the "rundll32 error". Every place I read states put XP in my drive and "repair", but I'm on Win7-ulimate and I have NO disc.
How do I repair this, or at least keep the pop-up out of sight?
Thanks

Hello,
If it's fixable with the "Repair" option, you can download a Windows 7 Ultimate Edition (x64) ISO file via internet/torrent and then burn it to a DVD.
Then insert that DVD, turn off your PC and then boot from the disc. You'll get an options menu, where you can choose for "Repair".

Re: Rundll32 error. [SOLVED]
Since my last post I had done that, download and burn, but when I go and try to repair it wants to reinstall and it wants to make an F: drive and install there. I have no other options to change.
Maybe I got a hold of a bad torrent?? The torrent stated it was untouched, but who knows?

Hello,
Did you boot from the disc? (So do not run it from a running Windows environment)

Re: Rundll32 error. [SOLVED]
Yep. I had to go into my boot directory to be sure I made it boot from the dvd drive first.
EDIT// I finally got it to take off and even though the window directory was not exactly right (F: instead of C: and with no way to change) I let it attempt to repair.
It did some repair and added items to my desktop, which is good, but the rundll32 error still pop-up.

Re: Rundll32 error. [SOLVED]
Hello,
I've been doing some research on this issue.
Try as follows, please:
1. Download Ccleaner: www.ccleaner.com .
2. After installation, open the program and navigate to the "Tools" tab.
3. Choose "Startup" and deselect all program you do not want to auto-start when you log in to Windows.
4. Be sure to also deselect Adobe ARM and Adobe Speed Launcher, if you can find them in the list.
5. Restart your PC and see if the error comes up again.
Good luck!

I did unselect both the adobes and only kept things of importance, but after reboot the error still appeared.

Hello,
What other programs are starting with Windows? Choose "Save as text file" in CCleaner and send me the list via PM, please. (If you do not wish to post here)
