Help! My Sims are Shadows! :I
My sims are shadows, they show up in Create A Sim, but their face pic is either blank or a bald shadow, sometimes their hair will appear if its non expansion. When I click accept family, they're black shadows in the family portrait. I tried playing a prexisting family, their protrait is fine but in game they are black shadows and their hair changes when I zoom in and out, they have no face pics, they;re blank green boxes. And everybody on their friends list is just emopty blue boxes, no face pics.
I have already tried clearing the following cache:
¤ CASPartCache.package
¤ compositorCache.package
¤ scriptCache.package
¤ simCompositorCache.package
¤ socialCache.package
Then, also the folders DCCache, DCBackup, and Thumbnails. There was no WorldCaches folder for me to delete.

I really doubt it's my specs though, a pop up does come up saying my vdeo card isn't supported but that popped up last time I had TS3 installed on Vista Buisness 32 bit, I had everything up to Generations installed and it was working just fine and the base game and few of the expansions weren't even Games4TheWorld torrents.
The game runs just fine now too except for the buggy shadow sims and missing face pics or shadow pics.

Re: Help! My Sims are Shadows! :I
Do you have any Custom Content? A default skin replacement maybe? If those are corrupted they can make your Sims look black or even invisible.

Re: Help! My Sims are Shadows! :I
It might be a problem with the cache. Go to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3, and delete the following:
¤ CASPartCache.package
¤ compositorCache.package
¤ scriptCache.package
¤ simCompositorCache.package
¤ socialCache.package
Then, also delete the folders WorldCaches, and Thumbnails.
Does this help?

Re: Help! My Sims are Shadows! :I
I did that already, there was no worldcaches folder to delete and delting the listed files didn;t help.

Re: Help! My Sims are Shadows! :I
Backup and remove "Documents\Electronic Arts\Sims 3", then try running the game again.
Also, are you getting any errors?

Re: Help! My Sims are Shadows! :I
Its saying my video card isn;t supported when I start the game up but it said that before when I had everything up to generations working and not glitching out :I I deleted the folder and backed it up on a flash drive but it didn;t fix anything, still shadow sims.
I noticed it keeps putting the Documents folder in My Documents on my OS hard drive and not the drive the game is actually installed on, idk if that makes a difference, I tried moving the folder to the right hard drive but the game just auto makes new files for the other drive.

Yes, this is temporary files, so the game creates them...
That's not where the problem is from...

Re: Help! My Sims are Shadows! :I
I'm afraid your graphic card doesn't support the game.
You might be able to play, but not all expansions (see this).

Always update your Graphic Card Driver.
Do you get this kind of shadow when you play other game?
