after updating to 1.63 (using the ultimate fix), i get the invalid game copy message.

is it because of my mods? i deleted them afterwards, but i still got that message. my base game downloaded from origin, and my expansion packs downloaded from here. I apply all base game cracks to the origin game directory instead of the electronic arts directory, but still am getting issues. 

what should I do?

Just to be sure: did you update the game with the "manual patch" ? https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v163-fix-manual-patch-updated

After that, please do the steps #3 and #4 from here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

This means download the latest Ultimate fix, and just use the two files from the #crack folder (nothing else !). Copy the two files to C:\Program files(x86)\Origin games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin.

Now, after you've done that, please take out everything that is inside your Mods/Packages folder. You have to make sure that all your stuff from there is compatible with the new base game version 1.63. If you find that the mods/CC haven't been updated yet, then wait a few days and/or play without them.

Moreover, you should make sure to clear all cache files, before re-starting the game (in My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3):

-CASPartCache.package

-compositorCache.package
-scriptCache.package
-simCompositorCache.package
-socialCache.package
-plus the contents of the folders "WorldCaches" & "Thumbnails"
