Cant install the base game to TheSims3. [SOLVED]

Hi, I'm new here and i'm having troubles installing the base game from TheSims3.
When I downloaded it and tried to make the updates, after the game downloaded the update, a message popped up saying "unknown error" and then the launcher closed and i can't open it anymore because every time i try it just says "unknown error occurred". I saw that in the ultimate fix there was a video explaining how to install the game but that video is for Windows and I have a Macbook Air..
Can you help me please?

Hello and welcome!
Make sure u got the ultimate fix for mac. I know it sounds very obvious but sometimes happens. Have u read the important article about installing sims 3?
If none of these help u might wanna contact the "Mac crew".
BTW: I installed The Sims 3 on my friends mac air computer and it works fine.
So I'm pretty sure there is absolutely nothing wrong with the ultimate fix or anything like that.

Hi, sorry but no. I have the right installation guide and i follow all the steps. After i download the sims3 update it tells me that "the Ipatch needs to change the permissions of the following files: The Sims3.app" and if i let it do that, after it tries to patch the files like it's suppose to, it just tells me "unknown error occurred" and the launcher closes and every time after that i try to launch the game the same message appears…

I don't know what to do :/
