GT430

OK so i upgraded my 8600gt to a gt430

so now my sims3 is having issue's

it freezes and flashes to the desk top and back again every several seconds

every setting in the sims is set to med.

running at 1680 X 1050

PC specs...

core 2 duo 1.86....(yea i know its a little slow)

4 gig memory

P5k-se mother board

Win7 64bit

And i just got an error message:

Display Driver Nvidia Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 280.26 Stopped Responding and has Successfully Recovered........

Oh yes im sure.....

just got off the phone with EVGA... 2hrs. and 4 phone calls

they said some times the HDMI onboard audio drivers have a conflict

so went through all that and it was determined that the GT430 card might be bad

so an RMA is in place to send the card the card back....

So the card was bad,......

did get a new replacment one......,what a dissapointment.......Thats what i get for going cheap......

maybe a 5% gain over my old 8600gt........

even EVGA said it's not much of a performance gain over the old one, but it was a tecknolagy(spelling?) upgrade, because it supports DX11, blueray etc...

Going to return it for a way better one..........

thanx..... talked to the place where i bought it from and they said i can only return it if there was something wrong with it, or if it was not opened.....

thats BS....... the 1st card i couldnt even use long enuff to see if it was good, and i had to open the replacment one and plug it in to see if it took care of my problem,

and it did.. i very well could'nt leave it in the box to see if it would work, now could i...?

i Will be on the phone Monday morning to argue with them..........

let you what happen's and what card i end up with.....

EVGA said i should get aGTS450 and that would be an upgrade....

well got the GTS450..

have'nt had much time to really see how much better it is,

but with a little time with the sims3 it's a good improvement.. (just not kickass great)

So far so good.........
