Can't complete opportunities after installing the "legal" version of the game!

Hello everyone~

A few days ago, I joined the forum for the first time after finding out that this is where the most complete collection of The Sims 3 games that I had ever downloaded came from. I asked a few things, got the help I needed and could play to my heart's content without any problems.

As it happens, on May 6th, it was my birthday and lo and behold! I got The Sims 3 and all expansion packs! xD Original versions, a mixture of discs and digital downloads, but all expansion packs and the original game nonetheless. I didn't get the stuff packs or any of the worlds, but that's fine.

So, I installed all the gifts in another computer (sadly, running Windows 7 32-bits version so the game keeps giving me "error code 12" there... It did so when I tried to install the games I downloaded from here and now it does with the "legal" games too) and started playing. Unfortunately, I've found that it seems my sims can't complete their opportunities no matter what I do! I go to the places and/or do whatever the opportunity asks, they stay there for whatever time they need and, regardless, once they come out of the place or finish what they had to do, the opportunity remains uncompleted and some even expire and fail even though I went to do whatever they asked of me!

I googled the issue but haven't found anything too conclusive. So I was wondering if you guys know any way to fix this and, at the same time, I was also wondering if, even though I'm playing purely "legal" games, your Ultimate Fix would work on this game and, theoretically, fix this problem.  

Right now, the game where I can't complete opportunities has the following things installed:

- The Sims 3 base game (disc)
- World Adventures (disc)
- Ambitions (digital download)
- Late night (digital download)
- Generations (disc)
- Pets (digital download)
- Showtime (digital download)
- Supernatural (disc)

I'm waiting for Seasons and University to arrive on the mail (the package didn't arrive before my birthday, so my sister's present was incomplete until it arrives... ), but so far that's what's installed and where I can't make my sims complete their opportunities.

Any thoughts, ideas or concrete help will be most appreciated.

Don't know if this will help but it's recommended any time you make changes to the game - go to your ""user"\documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3" folder and delete the five cache package files:
CASPartCache.package
compositorCache.package
scriptCache.package
simCompositorCache.package
socialCache.package

These files will be rebuilt when you next start the game.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've been doing that lately, because I've been experiencing a lot of lag/choppyness problems in towns like Starlight Shores and Bridgeport, but it hasn't fixed the issue with me being unable to complete opportunities in certain places. This game has so many bugs!

Assuming you don't have any mods or the like, try and re-apply the manual patch first, and then re-apply the Ultimate fix again. See the steps #2, #4 and #5 here:

Also, what opportunities exactly aren't working ? The career-related opportunities (if I recall correctly) usually add only a small job performance boost, but mostly (?) you do not "have to do" them. 

Indeed, I don't have any mods or anything of the sort so far.   I was wondering if I could apply the fix if I have installed only "legit" versions of the game, instead of the ones I downloaded from here. If that's OK (if I can apply the manual patch and Ultimate fix to my game even if it has only "legit" games installed), I'll do it in a heartbeat! That's precisely what I wanted to know.

Also, if I have already installed all the expansion packs from legit versions (as detailed in my first post in this thread) and install the Stuff Packs that I downloaded from Games4TheWorld (plus the manual patch and the Ultimate Fix), would that work? Or would they conflict in any way?

Thank you very much for your help! I know most opportunities aren't a "must", but I like to do them as much as I can and it's annoying that I can't because the game won't let me, even if I try to complete them. xD

Thank you! My game is working perfectly now and, apparently, some of the issues with opportunities were due to combined rabbit holes instead of due to problems with patches/versions/cracks. Thank you!
