Origin is not active. [SOLVED]
I have tried everything I have found, used all the tips I came across on here, ive re-installed the game (4 times now >.> because I was originally working with a non G4T version) I have no anti viruses active, im on windows 8, my firewall is off, added sims 4 to my firewall exceptions anyway, ive tried running it in win 7 compadibility mode (not that it matters I think) ive done the tip where you backup delete the electronic arts registry folder, run the game once, and then reapply the registery, ive tried having origin installed and un-installed, tried having origin on in offline mode and off alltogether, tried reinstalling origin 3 times, ive done all the basic ones from the install guide and the fix guide thats on here too like move the folder, also tried using different cracks for the same sims 4 version, and ive put the game on the desktop too
Current status of game and origin (just so you know exactley where I am right now):
Gamepath: c:Programme files (x88)
Origin:fully uninstalled
Game files: base game, upgraded to first ep, uped to 2nd ep, and then finally applyed the ultimate fix
So any advice? or am I just fubard? The only tip I havent tried is a fresh windows install
Final note: Carlos you are doing great work responding to all the posts (other admins may have too but ive seen you responding to posts about this topic alot) and im sorry for making another topic about this but I didnt want to leech of someone elses, but props to you have a cookie

Hello @mosher66 and welcome to the forum,
I guess you anticipated most of what I wanted to say already. I'll assume you also looked at this topic here ?
Did your computer - in the past - have any third-party anti-virus program installed ? Also, navigate under C:\Program files (x86) and well as C:\Program files. Look at each of the subfolders. Do you notice any programs that you may be unaware of ? I can't suggest anything specific, what you should pay attention to, but for now just look at these locations and see if you notice anything strange there.
Good luck for now !
P.S. sorry for the late-ish reply. I was busy doing other things in the past days...

I did read that its ok for the late reply thanks anyway, I actually had to reset my entire laptop today due to a windows start up error, I used to have third party antivirus called panda something but I had fully removed that, however since I had to reset my laptop everything is now fresh I have only installed maxthon browser and steam, im going to grab a trustworthy torrent apllication and attempt an install of sims 4 base game only and see if that will run. ill update this in a day or 2 max and let you know the results
EDIT: laptop comes with macaffee pre-installed, im going to try just turning it off first, if thats not working ill just fully remove it, I dont use macaffee much anyway, however I know for a fact before the laptop reset macaffee was fully deleted off the system

Maybe something else (than MacAffee) caused the previous issue for you. Anyhow, yes, feel free to keep us posted about your progress.

Update: I have intalled the base game and both expansions, I have not installed ANYTHING ELSE EVEN REMOTLEY EA RELATED AT ALL, I got the origin unable to start error, im now going to go trough and install the ultimate fix bundle, make sure my windows firewall is off (I think I forgot to do that one) and I also have to move the my sims folder out of its original installation place, hopefully after this itll work, otherwise I may truely be screwed.
//EDIT
So here we are, the end of the road, my hard-drive was wiped, the base game installed, followed by the expansions in order, windows firewall and defender deactivated, my pre-installed virus protector deleted, origin or any EA related product never installed on this hard-drive, sims 4 folder moved out of the EA folder and onto programme files (x86), and the ultimate patch installed, and ... it works, it actually works XD so my guess is that there is some file people gained from somewhere, maybe its from origin, maybe its from another EA product, or maybe its some kind of virus or anti virus file, all I know is that wiping my hard-drive, then following all the installation steps, actually got it to work (carlos feel free to lock this thread or mark is as fixxed or whatever if needed, and thanks for your help )

Re: Origin is not active. [SOLVED]
Good to hear about that. Some people suspect that spyware from EA is causing the issue for some people, but that may just be conspiracy-related stuff...
Feel free to get back to us again anytime again. Have fun in the meantime ! Problem solved, topic closed.
