A note on Mac/Linux support for The Sims 4. [PLEASE READ !]
Dear users and G4TW fans,
A lot of people have been asking about whether Games4theworld also provides support for The Sims 4, on systems like Mac OS or Linux (via the "WINE"-emulator). Please note that Games4theworld is specialized in Windows OS in the first place, hence we are unable to give support on The Sims 4, for these systems.
One major reason is that we currently do not have any team members with sufficient knowledge on these points. If you feel you have enough knowledge, are able to contribute regularly to the forum and you want to contribute to the community as a "Mac Helper", have a look at this post here.
Some users have been pointing out that various external sources illustrate that it is possible to run The Sims 4 on these systems. Which is fine, but then it is not enough to just link to these external sources, especially if one does not have enough knowledge on what to do when these tutorials fail. And given the large number of users having issues with running The Sims 4 using the "WINE"-emulator, it is pointless anyhow to link to these external tutorials.
There is a little post here which might help you, but keep in mind that we do not officially endorse it:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t20524-a-guide-on-how-to-install-the-sims-4-addons-dlc-on-mac-using-wine#139321
And another post here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t21185-the-sims-4-origin-not-running-issue-with-latest-fix-in-wine-wrapper#143572
Edit: and this post here by user @loolitah, for the Linux people out there:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t22840-how-to-install-the-sims-4-on-linux
But beyond that, as mentioned, we cannot provide more support. As unsatisfying it may be for you, please take the situation as it is and try consulting other sources than Games4theworld for these support requests. Of course, you may still post your question(s) on the forum here, but then you should not necessarily expect a team member to be able to assist you there.
Thank you for the attention, and good luck nonetheless !
