Problem with Generations Installer

I have downloaded both the Generations and sims 3 from here. I applied the crack for sims 3 from here as well. (Meaning the ultimate fix). I opened up the Generations installer by making it into a dmg, etc. But when I get to the part where I have to specify the location where generations should be installed, it keeps giving me an error-i.e., please choose volume where sims 3 is localized/sims 3 app is installed... or something along that lines.

For reasons of my own, I had not installed the sims 3 into the applications folder. I did try moving it to the applications folder, or choosing the volume to be the folder where the sims 3 is contained, etc. But nothing worked.

Help, please?

Yup, it doesn't work unless it's installed in the applications folder, I had this problem for a bit too. Hope you've since resolved the issue
