Zoo Tycoon 2 Question

Hi. I haven't downloaded it yet, because I have a question first! I used to have this game on discs, and there was a glitch where meerkats. would. not. drink. You'd put like 50 bowls of water and a little pond in their enclosure but they'd get so thirsty they'd get sick and die because somehow, someone, somewhere, missed out the 'program this animal to drink when it is thirsty.' I wanted to know if the same happens in this version? Thank you!
