The Sims 2 Complete Collection: black screen :(

Hi, I have a Macbook Air 2013 and I use virtualbox to emulate Windows 10. I downloaded the TS2 Complete Collection torrent and I followed the instructions for loading the games including the final crack replacement in the gardens and mansions expansion. Everything looked cool until I tried to load the game and it gives me the black screen you get before the game starts. The cursor changed into the sim cursor and I can move it around but the screen has stayed black for 30 min. I tried running it in win 8,7, and XP3 but no changes. Please help
