Microsoft Office 2013 - supported office installation not detected.
Hi
I have 3 copies of Microsoft Office 2013 on different computers, all sourced from the same GFTW torrent which inlcuded Office Toolkit V2.5.
Recently 2 of these needed their licenses renewed.
Using Office Toolkit V2.5 I was able to Reactivate the license on one of the PCs but not on the other.
The error reported is "Supported Office Installation was not detected in the system" (see below).
What can I do?
Many thanks,
JRA

Welcome to the Forum @JRA,
For the moment I would suggest you try using a newer version of the toolkit than 2.5. That torrent was released ages ago, and there have been some newer versions of the tool since then.
I've uploaded one here (version 2.6.4), and I recommend using 7-zip for unpacking the item safely.
If you haven't done so yet, also make sure to properly configure exclusions in your antivirus and/or Windows Defender. Good luck!

Re: Microsoft Office 2013 - supported office installation not detected.
Thanks Ghostman,
Your fast response is appreciated.
However unfortunately this didn't work.
Some extra info which might help.
- Windows defender is of course completely disabled.
- The 32-bit version of Office is installed, not 64-bit (same as the other instances)
- 2.6.4 was run as administrator
- Computer is Windows 10
- On another computer MS Toolkit V2.6.4 detected MS Office 2013 correctly.
Is there anything else you can suggest?
Thanks again, JRA

Re: Microsoft Office 2013 - supported office installation not detected.
On the computer for which the toolkit did not work...maybe Windows tampered with something (through a Windows update). Best explanation I can offer, and maybe it could help to uninstall - reboot - reinstall the thing, after which you try applying the toolkit again.
Also, did you ever have other versions of Microsoft Office installed, and maybe removed them in the meantime?
I myself got a Microsoft Office 2016, and a Windows Enterprise 10 (fully updated), but no issues that I could discern on my end. Which is stranger, because if Windows decided to tamper with these things, then I likely would have noticed issues as well by now.
We don't have newer versions of Office than the 2013-one. Maybe we can pull something off again on that end. While I can't help more here, maybe others can, so I shall leave the topic open.

Re: Microsoft Office 2013 - supported office installation not detected.
Thanks again Ghostman
I was reluctant to do a reinstall because of all the settings etc which have to be reinstated, but this was successful so it's a small price to pay!
Thanks for your assistance - greatly appreciated!

If you don't mind me asking, would you agree to shed some more light on which settings you have changed? I've never seen that error on the toolkit in the first place, and maybe certain changes to the program could have also caused this.
However, if you say that you managed to re-activate some copies on other PCs...well, scratch my theory then! (unless you modified the programs on the other PCs, in the same way).
Sorry I couldn't help more!

Re: Microsoft Office 2013 - supported office installation not detected.
Hi Ghostman
The settings on all copies *should* be the same but there may be minor differences that I am not aware of.
A couple of the PCs run W7, but the one I had trouble with was W10.
Having said that Toolkit V2.5 was successful on another PC running W10.
A hacked version of Windows 10 Media Center runs on the problematic W10 PC, but this was not able to be installed on the W10 PC where the Toolkit V2.5 was successful. I don't know why - the installation just fails.
Other than that there are no mods as such to the Office 2013 that I know of.
In Outlook I run two email files - one an Exchange Server and the other a POP address.
In excel I use a number of Excel add-ins, template files and macros - inlcuding links to RTD functions.
Word, Powerpoint etc are vanilla.
But none of these are things that I would consider to be extraordinary.
Happy to provide any further info if it'd be useful to you.
