The Sims 4 Soft Locking in CAS

I'm to start a new game but when I click the play button, sims are invisible/shadows and the game soft locks (the mouse cursor moves, i can click the corner button but they don't expand) I've tried disabling mods and reinstalling the game already and I'm out of ideas of what to do.

Can you give us some more information maybe; did you just download the base game (and from where), or did you also add some DLCs to it?

Also try using anadius's validator and post the results in a reply here. Depending on what shows up there, we can continue repairing your game of TS4:

After Ea introduced the story mod, we all start with invisible Sims in CAS. Depending on the PC and CC, it may take a couple of minutes to get a pop up, to say if you want to do the story mod or not. If you try to move the cursor, it may lock CAS.
