Windows Vista Update fail [SOLVED]

I have absolutely legal copy of Windows Vista. Today I notice update menu that says - 11 important updates. When I try to install it myself it failed. Updates history says that system try to install it every time when I turn on my laptop, but 90% never able to be installed successfully. Whats wrong hear? Should I worry about it?

There are a lot of things we can try.
Let's start with this one:

1. Search for new updates. It will show a few updates, don't do anything.
2. Now go to the Start menu and shutdown your PC.
3. The updates should automatically download/install during shutdown and startup.

Admin Sometimes when I shutdown PC it`s install some updates, but some never get luck. I tried to restart few hours ago, but there was no message about installing anything.

If look at details of failed update ( "Update for Windows Vista" for example) it says.


Update for Windows Vista (KB2633952)

Installation date: ‎8/‎24/‎2012 4:19 AM

Error details: Code 80070490

Update type: Important

Do you have any kind of toolbars like the "ask.com" toolbar?

I always delete them. Checked with CCleaner Tools now, looks like I don`t have any one. Also I don`t use any antivirus software for some reasons, but I use some tools that can check my pc when I need it. I use them often, so there is no malware in it.

Lol, you should really get an Anti-Virus. When entered, it can stay undetected and may break all your other "tools" too.
What if you download the updates or the Service Pack manually via the Microsoft website: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/servicepack.aspx?q=download&fs=producttype~%255e%2522Service%2520Pack%2522%2524 ?

I know, I use antivirus on my other PC, and on this one I always had luck...but maybe I really should get it.
Well...now it says that Windows Vista service pack 2 is already installed...so it`s look like it`s up to date...

The service pack 2 update does not include most of the security updates that windows wants you to install as they are newer than SP 2. Some security updates in Vista like to be difficult however and the best workaround is to select one or two of the security updates at a time to install, allowing the system to restart each time. Once those are installed you can select the rest of the updates and they should install without a problem.

Thanks everyone for the help! Problem was in optional security update that I didn`t notice before, after I let my PC to install it, all other went just fine.
