Possible Mass Effect problems fixes.

Hello,

Here are some fixes that might fix your Mass Effect problems;

1. Run the "MassEffect.exe"  - which can be found in: C:\Program Files(x86)\Mass Effect\Binaries - as an Administrator (Right-click on it and choose "Run as Admin) and see if it solves your problem.

2. Go to C:\Program Files(x86)\Mass Effect\Binaries and right-click on the "MassEffect.exe" file. Now go to the compability tab and choose "Run this Program as an Administrator" under "Competence Level" (Or something like that). Now click "OK" and double-click on the .exe . See if it fixes your problem.

3. If you [ALT]+[TAB] during the game, don't do that, as it might prevent the game from crashing.

4. Apply the Map Fix included with the download.


Patching the game to the latest version also may work:

1. Download and install this patch: http://files.bioware.com/masseffect/updates/MassEffect_EFIGS_1.02.exe
2. Download this crack for that version of the game (1.02): http://www.antistarforce.com/_ld/60/6094_MassEffectv1.02.7z
3. Extract the files from the crack (7-zip file) to a folder on your Desktop.
4. Open that folder on your Desktop and copy the included "MassEffect.exe", the "rld.bin" and the "rld.exe" to: C:\Program Files(x86)\Mass Effect\Binaries  and choose "Replace" on the pop-up that appears, telling you the files already exist.
5. See if the game works now.
