Re-seed Request Question. Empty Re-seed Request Question.

So it says don't ask for a reseed of the torrent if at least there are 2 seeders. Am I suppose to get the number from the website of the torrent or from what my torrent program is saying. I use bittorrent and the seed/peers column is a 0.556 fluctuating and last I studied decimals that's less than two or am I reading it wrong?

I'd imagine it's talking about from your client, as it'll also count DHT (and other) seeders where websites generally only count the torrent tracker seeders.

I see. Well that explains it. I just laugh when I glance at my torrent downloading. Just 10% and i'll estimate it at, oh about, 19 hours.

Hello there,

And it's not very exact, but I know which torrents could use some more power. For example, when someone requests a re-seed request for any of the The Sims 3 games, the topic is immediately closed.

Hello,

The torrents for Sims downloads usually have 100's of seeds.
I'm redownloading a couple of torrents myself that got lost when I had to format my D drive.
Base has over 700 seeds in the swarm I'm connected to. WA, AMB and GEN all have over 500 seeds in the swarm. Not to mention the peers, all 4 of those torrents have over 500 peers each in the swarms I'm connected to.

Re seed requests are honoured when it's (nearly) impossible to complete the file. This is certainly not the case for TS3 downloads.

Hello,

Are you sure your ports are forwarded properly?
I just downloaded almost 20 GB worth of Sims in 1 day. The torrents I mentioned all finished yesterday and I started them all in the afternoon. And we all know (or at least Admin does Razz, as he likes to try to rattle my cage about it) I don't have fantastic internet speeds.
