downloaded all the expansions as instructed, but problem with update?

So, I downloaded the sims 3 base game, and all the expansion packs that I desired exactly as I was instructed to here, without using any cracks : https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly. After downloading the Ultimate fix, and following the instructions within the fix, I had no problems with moving the files to the correct place. However, in step 11 It tells me to open the launcher and update. I tried to do this, but before It would even start installing I got a message telling me "The setup has detected that the installed game region for his update is incorrect. This update requires a different game region in order to be installed." I suspect that the World Adventures is to be blamed for this, I went to the SKU file as instructed and put it to '2', however it wouldn't install when it was under 2. So I found another forum that suggested putting it to '1' which than worked and i was able to install World Adventures. I really don't know what I should do at this point? someone help

I have ALL the expansion packs downloaded at this point, all except the Katy Perry Sweet Treats Expansion. & I'm using Windows 7.

Do the manual patch from step 2 of the post you linked to, if you need to update. It's for all regions, and will work.
