Sims 3 Late Night setup error. Help!

I have a retail version of the base game and Ambitions. I've been trying to install Late Night. I launch the installer and the dialog box pops up that says it needs to update it before it can be installed. I click 'yes' and then it says: Error with The Sims 3 update. Setup is unable to continue."

I don't have internet on the computer that I'm trying to install it on. Is that the problem? Does this copy need the internet unlike a normal expansion? Please help. I'm borrowing Ambitions from a friend and will be returning it on Tuesday. I want to make sure its all installed and okay while I have the legal copy in case it screws up and I need to reinstall it.

Well, since you have no internet connection, it's going to be a little bit harder. Please do as following (If you've already installed one of the games, just skip that step):

1. Install Outdoor Living Stuff, but DO NOT apply the included crack!
2. Install Late Night, but DO NOT apply the included crack! (Ignore the Installation Guide which says you need to reinstall everything)
3. Install any other expansions you like. (For WA, just skip the "# Crack" folder)
5. Apply this fix: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-latest-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems (When the Installation Guide says that you must open the launcher and search for the latest update, just download the latest update manually on an other PC and then apply it on your original PC, since you have no working internet connection on that one)
6. Your game should be working fine now!
