Duplicate Clothing Files Empty Duplicate Clothing Files

Post by Guest Wed 12 Jun 2013, 06:24

I noticed I seem to have two pet body outfits (both exactly the same) and a pair of the bear feet, both exactly the same and a tee/polo shirt of some kind. Any way to flush out these duplicates in my game? I tried find the "Whiskers & Paws" pack to uninstall it, but I cannot locate it in my launcher to uninstall it or in my downloads folder... I'm not sure where the duplicate shirt comes from and I found some duplicate female hair.

Hello,

Please use Delphy's Dashboard to locate the duplicated, corrupted files in your game folder.

I also have duplicate CAS parts. I used the dashboard but it does not show any duplicates.

You may have to completely restart from scratch for your cc to get rid of the duplicates. If you have your files backed up, I'd recommend this.

Hello,

When installing custom content, mods or whatever, it would be a good idea to make yourself some kind of "system", so that you don't easily "lose sight" of your CC.

As far as I am concerned, I have downloaded all the official store stuff and put the monthly "store updates" all in folders (one folder for each month so far). The same goes for my mods - all of them are in folders, with exact descriptions of their "date of change".

If you are disciplined enough to do that, you will actually have no duplicates of stuff in your folders, which means you won't be able to install duplicates either.

@ "Cr8zyC8tL8dy": I assume that your duplicates probably come from a ".package" file, which contains store stuff that you already installed in ".sims3pack" format. Of course, there is no need to have both installed Wink. You may try to remove some of the ".packages" and try filtering out the duplicates. By the way, these ".packages" usually have descriptions in their file names like "store-stuff (month of release) (year of release)/ hair/top/bottom" or similar, which can make it easier for you to spot them.

Duplicate Clothing Files Empty Re: Duplicate Clothing Files

Yes, that's what I did. I put in all package files and stayed away from the sims3pack files, but it still gave me duplicate cloths, shoes, and buildings, including a corrupt top. It has to be in the package files, since the only sims3packs I installed were CC that were houses, so no clothes. No idea why I have duplicate festival grounds, unless like you said, they were in a package file and a sims3pack file too. I cleared out all my package files and sims3pack files. Had only the games/expansions/stuff packs. Then I slowly put back in all pacakge files, store fixes, and some CC houses. Went back into the game, duplicates still there. So, I gave up, game plays, ignore the duplicates and play the game!
