VGA not recognised
Hi all,
I have found the solution on this page (link: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Getting_new_graphics_cards_recognized_by_the_game) but I don't understand and can't follow the instruction . It would be a great help if anyone could explain the instruction to me in a more simple way. I'm a total useless noob at all these things T_T .
My VGA is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti. And yes I have followed exactly the installation instructions on this site.
Thanks a bunch!

Hello,
On second thought, this seems like the kind of thing we may want to do using TeamViewer, but I'm probably not the best person for the "job" due to my 4 children running around here and the distraction they provide, you may want to ask @the_gh0stm4n about it.

Re: VGA not recognised
Thanks for your response! I had been spending the last few hours trying to edit the files as instructed, and now it seems that TS3 now recognizes my VGA, for for the first time the deviceconfig file shows "found:1, match:1" instead of 0 like before. But still I'm not sure if I got everything done correctly because the graphics as well as performance still show not much of improvement. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that way, or if my card is really that bad. Anyway, I'll try to contact the person you suggested. Thank you, again !

Hello @emsnu,
If needed, I'll help you with TeamViewer, but probably sometime on the weekend only (since I have more time then). In the meantime, try also having a look at the topic here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t21716-excessive-fps-rendering-in-the-sims-3-updated-on-16-12-2015
And see if that also influences your general performance somehow.

Re: VGA not recognised
Hi there, thanks for your reply
I tried the method you suggested, but it didn't help much with improving the performance. One thing I noticed, though, si that the fps of the game is high (~60) at slow speed and drops to ~30 at ultra speed. Is that normal ?
Anyway it'd be wonderful if you could have a look at my computer through Team viewer . I really appreciate it. Please tell me when you are free and we can get to it .

Take a look at The Sims 3 Optimization Guide. Take a look at #12 steps. Also, be sure to check others.
Hope it helps!

I assume your graphics card is already being recognized, so we will need to focus on other stuff from now on. I also strongly recommend you download the "4GB patch" here:
http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php
And then double-click on it. No, navigate to the TS3W.exe under C:\Program files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin. Select the TS3W.exe and wait for the "executable successfully patched"-message.
Then try and see if you notice any differences in gameplay.
P.S. just because your graphics card is being "recognized", it doesn't mean you can run the game on max. settings. Even with high-end gaming desktops, a lot of people are having problems with the game. If you can't properly run the game on max settings, try lowering at least some of them.

Re: VGA not recognised
Hi again
I tried all of your suggestions. To my surprise the graphics quality improved. Sadly I can't say the same thing for the performance; the game is still a bit laggy and even freezes every once and awhile. I'm afraid that, just like you said, my computer can only do so well given the current hardware...

Re: VGA not recognised
Can you tell us a little bit more about your system?
The Sims 3 is notorious for lag, maybe some of the things discussed here can improve it somewhat.
