University - Missing texture on sketches & Island paradise - endless saving loop

Hello. When I installed The Sims 3 University I noticed that there were no graphics on sketches. Like this: https://2img.net/h/i1137.photobucket.com/albums/n509/capgal94/Screenshot-217_zps090f9269.jpg

I found this: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Sims_3_Delete_Cache_Files, but it won't work for me, although I saw a lot of people post how this fixed the problem for them... Why doesn't it work for me?

Also, I ignored this little bug with the sketches and installed Island paradise, since then I can't save my game normally because I get stuck in an endless saving loop. Please help, it's really annoying. The only way I can save my game is when I go to "edit town", but I can't use "save" or "save and quit" at all. I didn't try "save as" but it doesn't matter, the problem is still there... Any idea how to fix this? Sad

Do you have any mods installed? If yes try to remove them and then try again.
And do you have the Ultimate Fix applied?

No, I don't have any mods. And yes, I've applied the fix.
Ok, now I read somewhere that removing the whole "The Sims 3" folder would fix the sketch problem (C: Users: X: My Documents: Electronic Arts: The Sims 3). The sketch problem is still there, but saving worked this time Smile

Ok, that was the bigger problem anyway, but the sketches are still annoying, why does it work for everyone except me? Sad

Hello,

I am not sure what causes your problem. But you can try clearing the following:

-CASPartCache.package

-compositorCache.package

-scriptCache.package

-simCompositorCache.package

-socialCache.package

-the contents of the folders "WorldCaches" & "Thumbnails"

Well, that's the thing. I tried that a few times now, doesn't work for me... :/

Oh, it's great to know that at least the saving works, because that was the mayor problem. I'm not sure about this but try deleting the missingdeps.idx located at /Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/DCCache , again I'm not sure if this will work, but I guess it's worth giving a try. If not, then someone else will have to help you, I'm sorry, it's because I never had that problem myself, really.

I wish you good luck fixing the problem, though. Very Happy

When I deleted the whole folder, all the cache files were deleted too, but another try can't harm I guess. Now I tried what you said, still doesn't work, but thanks for trying to help anyway Wink

At least I can save my games normally now...

Concerning the missing texture, I'll just wait until a solution pops out... maybe the next update will fix it, I hope. Until then, I'll enjoy it as "modern art"

Hello, I did some research and found this:
Every time you patch or install a new EP, most of your hacks will need to be updated or removed. If you are having any kind of problem and you've just patched or installed a new EP, remove all your custom content and delete your cache files. Then, unless the problem is specific to one sim or lot, make a new town and see if the issue occurs there too.
Also, I searched around The Sims 3 Official Forums and cat2006house's method seemed to help almost everyone in there.
Another thing is that you could try and re-install University Life.
Other than that I unfortunately haven't found any other fixes that seemed to help/work.

Omg, I'm such an idiot, I thought my sketches on the wall would change to normal and that's why I thought it didn't work... When my sim drew new sketches they were normal Very Happy

PS: But hey, at least we figured out how to get rid of the endless saving loop (deleting the whole folder) Wink
