Will be way for a while
Hello dear fellows,
As some of you already know, weird things are going on in Turkey. Along to the many other incidents like destroying forrests, park and green era, lately Turkish Government is trying to destroy Taksim Gezi Parki and build a mall in the spot. This park is mean to us, like Central Park means Americans and Hyde Park for English. That's why, people started a peaceful protest in the park six days ago, by sitting there, reading book and doing picnics. But police have been using excessive force with gas bombs, water tanks and lately orange agent... The protest are still continue not only Taksim but also in lots of districts in Istanbul, as well as in other 20 cities.
I am participating this protest and lately I have been in streets for 3 days, with the rest of our people. I just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be away time to time. But still, trying to be here to help people here too.
And not for my people or myself but for our world, I ask your support. Because we are resisting to those who are being fascist and think they're so powerful that they can simply destroy a park aged for 400 years and supress all people in country even other people who supports the protest. Trees and green areas aren't any one's properties, they belongs to earth.
So please, all I want you to raise our voice, and share our resistance. An important note about this resitance: We aren't having a "Spring" like those Arab countries, as we have already been a secular country for 90 years. This resistance only for our Nature, and our Future.
Thank you for listening, and I feel comfortable to share this as it isn't about political protest, or about religion or races. It's about our world's future. If you want to help us, just follow your own tv channels, as ours don't televise the incidents Still, official Twitter page is here.
Thank you!

Re: Will be way for a while
Wow
And to think in my country people are fighting about whether legalizing gay wedding is a good thing, when there are so many more important problems in the world!
You have all my support and I hope you will be successful in what you undertake!
Our heritage is what is precious to a people. I think it is what links us to our culture, to our ancestors, and helps us make us who we are. It is thanks to those that we can build ourselves.
Plus destroying a park seems really a wrong thing to do!
Best of luck, and a lot of support from me!!
//EDIT: Oh, and don't worry we'll cover for you!!

Re: Will be way for a while
Hello all,
I really get so emotinal when I first open the forum and see the banner... Thank you all, for your sincere support.
I am doing fine, and sometimes yeah it gets violent by police but everything is okay. Protesters don't use violence over police, they just resist. But of course we are building barricades for those water tanks not to cross the streets. As our police uses excessive force, still.
The people here were silent for a long time, now they're just on the streets, and waiting for our slow-minded government and police officers understand that we rule over them
Also, here is the Anonymous' support video to Turkish citizens. Here, it seems as if we're in civil war, but we aren't. We just resist, not fighting with our own police officers. Please also note that fact
Many and many thanks for your support, it means a lot. You're really the best

You're very brave for standing up like this but again, be careful.

Unfortunately, yes. There are more than one dead actually. But media still doesn't telecast the incidents so lots of people don't know.
Actually, at this point all the protest gains another meaning, if your own Police force uses excessive force onto protester who wants to save a green park at the start and you kill one of your own people for this cause, it means the whole system is really wicked, and needs to be stopped.
There shouldn't be anything more important than a person's life.
And I admit that it's so hard thing to do, as foreign forces are in the game, and they try to corrupt the peaceful protests. Actually I don't know what to think for future. It's only sad that people try to massacre other people just for their own sakes, or money, or petrol or anything. That's happening right now all around the world.
