I've downloaded the sims 3 alone and I followed all the instructions written on the #installation guide folder and everything works fine. Now, is it okay if I didn't follow the instructions written on this page https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly. If I install an expansion pack will it work correctly even if I didn't follow the instructions above? Thanks and Have a great Day! God bless. Smile

Hello,

It's okay if you just want to play the base game without any expansions. However, if you come across an expansion pack, I suggest you follow the instructions or else The Sims 3 cannot be launched successfully. "Must Read" is a vital key to success of installation of the expansion packs.

Hello,

Of course you can follow the instructions then Wink 

Here's how I would do that: after you have installed the base game, (re-)apply the "manual patch", available here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v155-fix-manual-patch

After that, apply the "Ultimate fix" from here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

Open the Ultimate fix (with WinRAR) and then extract the folder #crack. Look inside, you'll see the files TS3W.exe and TSLHost.dll. Copy these files to C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin. Of course, you need to "replace the existing files".

I've finished downloading the manual patch Very Happy and I installed it already, can I now delete the patch after installing? I am now downloading the Ultimate Fix. Very Happy I'd just follow the instructions and I'll update you if it works. Very Happy Thanks! Smile))

Hello,

You can of course delete the manual patch, but I suggest you keep a backup file of that if anything's gone wrong.
