Looking for Verification

Hello all, I'm new here. I read the 'must reads' on installation and the Fixes most problems. My question...

I have legal copies of all the Sims 3 games except for Generations and Outdoor Stuff. I didn't see any threads that was similar to my situation so I experimented. (I know I read that part about following directions to the letter as well)

I installed Generations on top of all my legal copies, I downloaded the copy from the Pirate Bay. (I didn't want to have to do a fresh install, it takes forever. lol )

I followed the install instructions perfectly that came with the torrent. I must say that it works. I didn't have to use the fixes most problems batch file.

My question: Is it normal to not have to use the fixes most problems batch file? I'm a bit itchy about using a cracked copy of generations on top of all my legal sims 3 stuff.
Am I being paranoid? I'm waiting for smoke to come out of my tower because everything seems to be working fine so far.

Thank you Lady Eldi. I will use the fix just to cover my bases for the future. I had already updated my game with the generations patch before I installed the pirated generations, so maybe that why I didn't have to worry about the update.

Out of curiosity, do you you guys work on some of the in-game bugs that EA never gets around to patching? Like the omni-plant bug where you can't get more seeds from the mailbox, or the vampire child bug where it only takes 3 seconds to get a skill maxed to level 10 for the offspring of a vampire parent?

It's always good to be sure. I have to tell you, if everything works fine, there's no need to do anything. The Generations crack in the Fix is exactly the same as the one that comes with the torrent itself.
The reason for a separate Fix is because some people want to update the game or have already cracked the other expansions. In both cases you need to apply the Fix in order to make the game work.
Though, if you haven't applied any cracks during the installations, you only need to apply the Generations crack that came with the torrent itself. (So no need to apply the Fix) Soooo, that means if you have legal versions of (most) of the games/expansions, you haven't applied any cracks yet, so no need to apply the Fix, only the Generations crack.
