Uninstalling. [SOLVED]
Really sorry, pretty sure this is in the wrong place but i'm not sure where it would go
I had a problem that i've come to the conclusion, cannot be sorted out. I'm going to have to uninstall and reinstall all of my games and content. I was just wondering where would I start with everything? I have quite alot of custom content so can I put all those files elsewhere temporarily so I don't have to find them all and re-download them?
Also, will I be able to reinstall my torrented packs in the same way? Basically, I just don't want to mess up any worse than I already have How do I go about the re installation properly?

Can you maybe tell us first what your problem looks like exactly ? Maybe there is a way to fix it without un-installing (which, if done properly, takes a bit of time and effort).
If you're sure about it, you might want to give this here a try: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall

Re: Uninstalling. [SOLVED]
Long story short, I moved some files which I shouldn't have and even after moving them all back, resulted in some major graphical and in-game issues.

If you haven't un-installed yet, you might try this though: go to My Documents/Electronic Arts and rename or remove the folder "The Sims 3". Then start the game again. Start a new savegame for now and play on for a while.Katatonia244 wrote:Long story short, I moved some files which I shouldn't have and even after moving them all back, resulted in some major graphical and in-game issues.

Re: Uninstalling. [SOLVED]
Well I uninstalled and reinstalled everything, made my mods folder and put everything back in (i tested the game abuot halfway through re-installation). Now, I went to load up my game and it said that some unofficial mods were not matched to my game and the game needed updating to avoid bugs and glitches. I went to patch and update my game but it came up with "Error occured trying to install the patch".
I have a feeling that this could have happened because I have some torrented packs and when I installed them, I had to mount them using Deamon Tools and blahblahblah. Anywho, when I clicked "computer" I have several copies of a removable disk version of Showtime, so I ejected 2 of them. This may have nothing to do with the error but just in case, I thought I would mention it, because i'm so stuck right now ._.
I've really screwed up and I feel so silly for it ;-;

Re: Uninstalling. [SOLVED]
You don't need to mount anything to install expansions. Just double-click the setup file.

I think what Shamrock meant was that if you download your games from "Games4TheWorld"
http://www.games4theworld.org/downloads.html
then you don't need to mount anything.
In case you haven't seen it yet, I would refer to this here https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
If you have tried to use the launcher for updating the game, and you get an error, please use the so-called "manual patch" (step #2 of the instructions).
