Do I need to keep the downloaded files? [SOLVED] Empty Do I need to keep the downloaded files? [SOLVED]

OK, I'm going through and backing up my data/cleaning up my PC. I realized that one of my biggest folders is the game downloads for the Sims 3 and its various expansions (all from here.)

Once I have installed the games and confirmed they work, do I need to keep the download? Will it hurt anything if I just move it all to my external hard drive and delete it from my laptop?

Hello,

No, you don't need the game downloads as soon as you've managed to install all of it. But like you figured out already, you want to keep the downloads in a safe place like an external hard-drive (so that you don't have to re-download it all, in case something 'unexpected' happens with your computer). Wink

Hello there,

Just a side-note: you might want to remove the extracted .rar files to save space, but it's higly recommended to keep the .rar files themselves:

1. If you remove them, you'll not be able to seed any more, which is generally frowned upon by the torrenting community. (Sharing is caring)
2. Like Carlos said, you might need the files in the near future. It'd be a bummer if you'd have to re-download everything again.

Besides that, enjoy your game and please let us know if you need more assistance!
