"Re-Install Base Game". [SOLVED]
Alriiiighhttt... I have been battling with this game ALL DAY. I downloaded the base game and the Supernatural expansion pack.
I will warn you beforehand: I am not tech savvy in any sense of the word.. I need detailed questions/descriptions, please...
Basically, the Game got to the second load screen and then stopped working. I've noticed I'm not the only one with that problem.
So I went here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t857-the-sims-3-crashes-freezes-to-desktop-fix-updated-on-7-01-2014
So in step one, it says run as administrator.. I tried and it didn't work. Then it said remove mods, but I couldn't find any folder that contained any Mods- I don't know if that's strange, but I couldn't find it.
So I think I made a stupid mistake. I thought it asked me to move the Sims 3 file from C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 into a different file, so I did that... but it CLEARLY SAYS (My) Documents\Electronic Arts\ And now I'm trying to play and it says I have to reinstall the base game.
I'm lost from here.
What do I do?
Please help!

Nevermind. I just put the file back where it was before I moved it and, instead, went back and moved the Sims 3 file from (My) Documents\Electronic Arts\ and now it's working fine. (:
Mod edit: I'm glad to hear you managed to solve the problem yourself. This topic is closed now.
