Into the Future problems.

Every time I launch the game there is a black screen with a box and it keeps minimizing the game for me.  I can not play the game .I have updated the game and applied the crack.  I have also used Games4TheWorld Sims 3 expansions before and never had this problem.  Anyone know what the problem is?

I have done that multiple times but, it seems to not help.  Any other ideas?

Would having the expansion installed on a separate hard drive than the base game cause this issue?

No, that shouldn't cause any problems. (As long as it's not a modified installer/torrent)
Are you 100% sure that you re-downloaded the Ultimate Fix via the Mirror link? It was recently updated!
I helped someone via TeamViewer today, and they had the exact same problem.

If that didn't work, try backing up (!) and then completely removing this folder: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3

Removing that didn't seem to work.  I'm thinking I might just have to reinstall everything :/

That's odd. Yes, you could try that. Just make sure to restart your PC after uninstalling and before reinstalling.
I could help via TeamViewer, but that'd have to wait until tomorrow, as I'm leaving for today. (2.40 AM here)

I've noticed that if I reopen it while it is minimized for a while I can hear the sound for it but, it just minimizes again.  That tells me it is running but, no properly.
