Sims 3 update problem

Hi.. so my problem is that I have all the expansion packs for sims 3 (except world adventures) & a few stuff packs.
They've worked fine.
Now after I install Sims 3 Into The Future & manually update it, it says "The installed version of the application cannot 
be determined. The setup will now terminate." (Setup as in the update's setup, not the expansion pack's) 
 
Tip.. I also stopped playing the sims 3 for about 6 months & never installed the other update prior to 1.63 nor store update.
 But I didn't think it'd matter, unless you guys can tell me otherwise

I'm not sure I'm understanding your problem.  Are you basically saying that your game will not let you successfully install Into the Future and it throws up an error when you try?

If you go here and follow the steps (even if you're doing them all over again!) you should be just fine.  Your game cannot automatically update itself, you always need to use the manual patch for that.  If your Launcher tries to update on its own accord, it will throw up all kinds of errors that may sometimes prevent you from doing anything at all.

No it lets me install Into The Future just fine, but when I do the manual update it has the popup message saying that it will now terminate.

When you say 'manual update', you are referring to the Manual Patch found here, correct?

Please uninstall the base game, REBOOT your pc, and reinstall the base game. This usually solves the problem you are having.

So will I basically have to uninstall everything?
Because if so I guess Into The Future & World Adventures will have to be left without... 

No what you need to do is to uninstall only the base game, The Sims 3 base game.
