Viglink Empty Viglink

Post by Guest Mon 09 Dec 2013, 21:29

Not really so much of a complaint as a question: Do you have viglink on this forum? Often the forum here has implanted AD links in the text from VigLink, I feel like after Ive used CCleaner and the VigLink website forgets I have opted out of their "services". So is this something in the bestgoo.com system or is it just me?

Hi there,

I've never heard of Viglink, so I had to look it up. Can you create a screenshot of what you mean, exactly?
If you mean the automatic "adfly" link conversion, yes, that's an integrated feature. You can bypass it by using www.goo.gl links though.

Does this happen with all your browsers; or can you try another one ? Also, try using an adblocker and clear your browser's cache and cookies.

Basically, "keywords" are turned into links; and when you click the links, you'll be redirected to e-bay or similar sorts of sites. I actually used to see some of my text, like the words "Sims 3" or "Call of Duty" in my profile turned into links.

But I'm not seeing them anymore now, so I assume that the forum host either turned that off (rather unlikely) or that I somehow managed to "block" that stuff. (I can't exactly tell how though, lol).

Yes Carlos G. This happens when we are logged out. I often see The Sims 3, your username and so on linked as viglinks. This only happens if people don't log in and stay as guests.

Hi there,

Ah, I thought that was it. No, I don't think that option is active on this Forum. (For as far as I know)
Are you sure it's not just a plugin or something? Try a different browser, indeed.

Well, I tried 3 different browsers and this happens to me once I log out, but I didn't bother. Viglinks don't harm my pc.

That's what I forgot to mention in my last post: I used to see that too when I'm logged out. Now, I don't see them anymore, whether I'm online or offline here. I also tried it on both Firefox and Chrome; and I don't see that stuff in either browser.

I guess I blocked that thingy then. Razz

Tried it in Firefox and IE (and originally in Chrome) but like you've said it is because 1. I'm not logged in at the time I see the links and 2. I'm not using AdBlocker, which I used to use and I'm grateful that you reminded me.

Most importantly, I'm relieved that it's not just me. I get worried about these things. Thank you a lot for the responses.

Well Firefox's AdBlock has blocked all the viglinks (AdBlock never did its job well, what it did is this only Shocked).

Google Chrome seems to have blocked the links too. I think only IE hasn't. Well anything is plausible.

Hi there,

Indeed, it's probably because I'm using Adblock on all my browsers. Razz
Never did its job well? I think it has always been doing a great job in blocking annoying advertisements. Including (!) Youtube advertisements.

LOL. Well my Adblock only blocks these things, but they never block pop-up advertisements or Youtube advertisements. (Maybe it's the problem of my browsers) ><

Hi there,

I use the Mozilla plugin, if that helps. Wink
