Unistalled sims 3 but get a error when reinstalling Empty Unistalled sims 3 but get a error when reinstalling

When i try to reinstall the sims 3 i get Error Code:-5005 : 0x80070002 I ran revo unstaller to see if anything was left back but it didnt find anything. Any Ideas?

Hello,

Did you re-boot the computer after un-installing ?

Try this: google for "CCleaner" - if you still don't have it - and install it. Run it and let it check your computer. If it does find anything, let it do the "cleanup", and then RE-BOOT the computer.

After the re-boot, try re-installing The Sims 3 again. Good luck !

Thanks for the reply Carlos but tried CC as well and still the error came but I redownloaded the base game and it seems to install fine, I think some how the games i had got corrupt. Currently redownloading the rest of the game.

The "corrupt(ed)" basegame you tried installing before, was that Games4TheWorld's basegame ? Normally, it's rather rare that a game gets "corrupted" on its own.


For the future, try backing up the download in at least one other place, like a USB flashdrive or an external hard-drive. Smile

yes it was a G4W game guess its one of them rare cases where it got corrupt but like i said redownloaing it worked fine installed without any issues,waiting on the others. And I will keep you updated. and thanks for the idea of backing them up didnt think of that.
