Need a bit of help..

Hey I'm new here, and I perused the other posts trying to find an answer to my problem to no avail. I just downloaded a few expansion packs, and stuff packs. I followed the directions to a T, and I've found a couple issues arise.
First when my game launches it tells me something about being unregistered mods or something like that, do I want to quit? Nah I say no I want to see how these new items look. All is dandy, loading, loading, then I get to the part where I need to choose a world or family and all I get is blanks. No options, no worlds, I cant even log into my EA account. What is causing this issue?
Yes I read the directions, followed every step, re followed every step about 4 times, and I still cant get it to work. Can someone help? Maybe with screen sharing? I'm desperate at this point I just want to play my game!
