Sims 3 stopped opening...

I downloaded a torrent of the sims3 and it was working great until i decided to borrow my friend's expansion packs and download them. Now when I try opening the sims3, it says "Sime3 Launcher has stopped working". When I go into program files and run the application "TS3" it says: "Unable to start game" and some numbers and letters. I downloaded your fixes and followed them to a T, but it wont open still.... Any tips or ideas to get the game started again??? Sad

Does this Sims 3 torrent and the expansion pack downloaded from G4TW? It could be incompatible

No I downloaded the torrent from somewhere else, and the expansions were hard copies bought by my friend from the store.

The first thing to keep in mind that in order for the "Ultimate fix" (crack) from G4TW to work, you need at least one of the following expansions/stuffpacks:

Into the Future, Movie Stuff, Island Paradise, University Life, 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff, Seasons, Supernatural, Diesel Stuff, Katy Perry Sweet Treats, Showtime, Master Suite Stuff, Pets, Town Life Stuff, Generations.

Next, experience usually tells that people did something wrong during installation of the games/cracks. Please, again, re-do the steps from #2 to #4 here, and don't do anything else, besides these steps:

If you really do these steps as described, that error shouldn't happen. Good luck for now !

P.S. can you please post the EXACT code that shows up with "service initialization failure" ?

Im pretty sure I did all those things you posted...
The popup says: service initialization failed (0x024e424f)

Again, make sure that you really did these "steps from #2 to #4", from the "must-read guide", right. There really aren't that many other explanations left. If you are using mods, you can try removing all of them and re-starting the game.

Otherwise, un-install the base game, re-boot the computer, re-download the base game from G4TW, from here:

And install it. After that, re-do these "steps from #2 to #4".
