SERIOUS issues since installing dragon valley

I still had control over the one sim that had been selected when I had saved and exited, but it was as if I had NO sims in my household. I even tried enabling my testing cheats and shift/clicking on her and then "add sim to active household"...except that option didn't appear.... I really don't know what to do at this point. I'm getting very frustrated with the whole thing.

I'm sorry to hear about your severe issues, but this game is known for these kind of things. Can you go into "edit town" mode, and try saving your sim family into the "bin" ? After that, try making a new savegame and put your sim family into that new town. Then play on for a while to see if anything improved.
