Age of Empires help needed greatly

Hello i downlaoded age of empires and as i am completely new to this have no idea what to do. i read the instalation guide and ran the setup.exe and copied but i am not sure if i have copied the crack ointo the game directory correctly whenever i click to play it say thier are compatability issues and to insert the age of empires disc i need helolp please

You have top copy the 'age3.exe' crack to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires 3
Choose "Replace" on the pop-up that appears, telling you the file already exists.
