okay, I'm confused now

I posted yesterday asking why town life stuff wouldn't install, and was told to go and look at the mac installation guide, which I've done, but that says that in order to install any of the expansions I have to install sims 3 late night before any of the others, whereas the guide that comes with the ultimate fix (mac) tells me to install either generations or town life stuff. In both cases it says that I have to install these or none of the other expansions will work. Does this mean I have to install late night, then in order to crack the whole lot I also have to install generations and/or town life? If so, which order do I do it in?

Also, I redownloaded the base game from g4tw and it doesn't come with a serial that works for mac (the readme points to a serial generator that I think only works on windows), does it make a difference what serial I use and if I just pull one off a previous base game download or another website?

I installed my base game from someplace else because at that time, I didn't know about G4TW. The expansions, however, came from the G4TW website. What worked for me was that I install Late Night first, and install all the other expansion packs in a random order.

Then I installed Generations and Town Life.

okay, thanks very much. Do you know whether I need to install all of the games and then apply the no cd cracks, or whether I can crack the base game then install expansions and so on?

Just to be on the safe side, crack the game once you have downloaded the expansion packs. Make sure to follow the Mac Fix Guide!
