Medieval UltimateFix, Guide is blank
Hi all,
First time poster here. Just trying to install the fix for medieval on windows 8, and now that Im trying to get it to work I've gone to read the guide only to find it a blank PDF. If someone could provide me a copy of the guide I would really appreciate, as I have no idea what to do and am always nervous playing around with program files.
Thanks in advance

Here are the instructions for the installation of The Sims Medieval, from the Ultimate Fix .rar:
- Instructions :
- 1. Be sure that you’ve downloaded both our The Sims: Medieval AND The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles release from www.games4theworld.org .
2. Open the “Medieval” folder in this .rar file and drag & drop the ‘TSLHost.dll’ and the ‘TSM.exe’ files to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims Medieval\Game\Bin and choose “Replace” on the pop-up that appears, telling you the files already exist.
3. Now, open the game’s Launcher and click on “Updates” in the left-menu. When opened, press on “Refresh” to search for new updates and update the game to the latest version available.
4. When you’re done updating, completely close The Sims: Medieval launcher (Also from the system’s tray) and open the “# Crack” folder in this .rar file.
5. Drag & drop the ‘TSLHost.dll’, ‘TSM.exe’ and ‘rld.dll’ files in there to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims Medieval\Game\Bin and choose “Replace” on the pop-up that appears, telling you the files already exist.
6. Start the game and... ENJOY playing the latest version of the game!
If you have any other questions, don't doubt to come back. Good luck!

Hello ACunningFox and welcome,
If your Sims Medieval game is up-to-date already, you can go straight to #4 of what SeoY posted before.
Also...did you actually extract the .pdf and the other contents with WinRAR ? Please ALWAYS use the program WinRAR for extracting contents out of .RAR files, to avoid problems with the extracted data. Good luck !

Thanks! And...
Thanks for the welcome >.< And for these instructions SeoY, they make it much more explicit what I need to do. To clarify the first step a bit. Is it alright if I already have the base game, I just need to download or buy the Pirates expansion pack too? Or does it need to be this downloaded release?
Honestly Carlos, I'm not sure I did extract the files completely out :$: Im nervous about things like that, I never know where I ought to extract too lol, which is probably over thinking it.

Hi again
According to the guide you must have both the base game and the expansion pack. But you can get the EP in the same page you downloaded the base game (assuming you downloaded it from here), or you can follow the link at the end of the Step 1.
Regarding the files, you must make sure to extract the whole .rar file using WinRAR. If you don't have it, you can get it in our downloads server too. And you can extract it to any folder you want, just make sure you don't lose it (creating a new folder called Medieval Fix or something like that is an option).
Good luck, and keep us updated on how it goes!

Hi!
I didn't download the game, I just went to install it from the disk yesterday on a whim, and thought "oh yeah I'll update you!".. When it didn't run I check out the internet which basically screamed "Don't download the patch!" at me
I actually uninstalled and reinstalled without updating to play it, but for some reason it runs really slowly on ultra-low settings, so methinks I need a fix anyway. I couldn't get through the whole tutorial because it was so jaggy.
There's something about downloading videogames that doesn't sit well with me, Ill probably just buy the expansion later in the week and return to this. I actually have my thesis due in a month so may be best not to bother til then hahaha.

Oh, I see. So, you mean you didn't install the patch because you couldn't, or because you found that you shouldn't? You should always have your game updated to the latest version. If you can't do it via the launcher, you can get a manual patch here:
http://akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownloads/u/f/sims/sims/patches/TheSimsMedievalPatch_2.0.113.00001_Update.exe
And as far as I know, the Ultimate Fix isn't exactly to fix the lag you are getting. It's the crack necessary for the game if you downloaded it from here. I'm not sure if it actually helps with the lag, but I find it unlikely. I recommend that you patch the game to see if it helps. You can also download Gamebooster, a program that frees some resources for the game to use, sometimes fixing the lag. You can get it here:
http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html
Please, let us know how it goes. Good luck!

Re: Medieval UltimateFix, Guide is blank
What happened was I have windows 8.1, and once updated to the latest version Medieval no longer works on 8.1.
A lot of the advice was simply to uninstall and not patch up, but the game didnt play well anyway. Someone on a microsoft help page references the Ultimate Fix as the way to solve the problem, and thats what brought me here

Not sure it it works or not, but here is an article in the EA website about it:

Apparently if you install the game through Origin using the product code from your disc can be helpful. You can try it if you want, and please let us know if it worked. Good luck!

//EDIT
That worked! Downloading it off Origins took some time but it came out brilliantly with the added plus of not having to use a disk!
Woohoo! Thanks for all your help lovely people!
//EDIT
Wait I may have spoken too soon. Alt+tabbing to post here, when I went back to the game it was lagging

Hi again
Please, keep in mind that posting multiple times in a row is considered spamming and against the Forum rules. Use the "Edit" button at the top of your post to add more information instead. I edited all of your posts into a single one.
That sounds more like a compatibility issue. Does the game run fine if you don't alt-tab out of it?
