Downloaded Sims 4 but can't find .exe? [SOLVED]
I finally just finished downloading the Sims 4 Games4theworld torrent, and clicked 'The_Sims_4_Setup' - it all installed fine, but once it had done, it created a shortcut on my Desktop (which I did want, by the way), and I noticed it wasn't a Sims 4 logo - it was that weird symbol for when something's a Setup. I clicked it, and it says this:
"Windows is searching for TS4.exe. To locate the file yourself, click Browse."
The pop-up never finds it, and I don't know where it's located. Where can I find it? I really want to play the game! Am I missing something, did I forget to do something?
Update ~ It just said it'd moved or something, so where can I find it now?

Hi there!
The location set by default in the installer should put it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Game\Bin. Please check if you can find this folder.
Did you by any chance attempt changing the location during the installation?
You could try using the built-in search in Windows to look for "TS4" and see if it's put somewhere else. It shouldn't be in any other folder if you didn't move it, but check if that can find it.
Please, keep us updated. Good luck!

I didn't change the location, no. I'm searching now for TS4!
//EDIT
I searched, and I have no TS4.exe. at all!
//EDIT
I have a TS4.par, is it named wrong?

I see. Are you completely sure that the installation finished successfully, then? Please go to Control Panel, and then to Programs and Features. Look for The Sims 4 there to see if it's actually installed.
No, TS4.par is another file completely. Take a look at the location it's in, TS4.exe *should* be in the same folder.

The Sims 4 is in installed, it's listed under my installed Programs. I checked, and TS4.exe. is definitely not in there. Do you have any ideas what I could do?

Yes, there is something you can do. Please download the Ultimate Fix from this link here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t18086-the-sims-4-ultimate-fix
Follow the instructions exactly as the guide inside says. After that, check if the game runs.
If the shortcut doesn't work, then you can go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Game\Bin, right click in "TS4.exe" and select "Create Shortcut". Put this Shortcut on the Desktop and try again.
Please, let us know how it goes. Good luck!

Hello Darky23,
I would also completely de-activate the anti-virus software for now, and then re-apply that "Sims 4 Ultimate fix" (= what SeoY suggested before).
If you're fmailiar enough with your anti-virus, you can also add the install location of the base game to the "exceptions" of your software. Good luck for now !

My anti-virus is actually not on right now (Subscription ended, I think) does this count as disabled?

I assume, yes.
But then the thing is this though: I don't see any other reason then why your TS4.exe "disappeared" (?!). Do you have any other "security"-software installed ? Like anti-malware programs or the like ?
If so, you could try de-activating them, too.

Hello Miloutchi.
Please, make a new topic for your issue. Even if your problem is the 'same' (it's possible that it isn't), different users should have a separate topic. We'll be glad to help you after you've created the new topic.

Re: Downloaded Sims 4 but can't find .exe? [SOLVED]
My Anti-Virus took away my first TS4.exe. So I disabled it. Then, it was just called TS4. I clicked it, and a stupid error came up, saying something along the lines of:
"Cannot start game because required game data is missing or damaged."
What should I do?

Did you copy the folders from the Ultimate Fix after your antivirus deleted the TS4.exe? If it was removed, you should try re-downloading the Ultimate Fix now that you've disabled the antivirus. After that, copy the folders and try again.

I think I copied them into the wrong place...I'm going to go back to that start, re-do all the Extracting, etc. Then see!

I see. Please remember that they should go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4, and that you select "Copy and Replace" when prompted.

That's very good to hear! You're very welcome.
I'll close the topic if the issue is solved, then. If you have any other problems, you can always come back. Happy Simming!
