CC content compatibility + No mermaids? Empty CC content compatibility + No mermaids?

Post by Guest Wed 25 Feb 2015, 02:38

Hi,

I recently reinstalled Sims 3 with patch 1.67 on my new computer.
I still want to use my previous custom contents. I didn't have 1.67 before. So my question now is how can I check if they are compatible with the latest patch? Some of them still shows up in my game but most of them don't. I'll delete the ones that doesn't work but I don't know their file names. And I believe they are the reason my game lags, cancelled sim actions, and had to reset my sim a lot. Should I just delete them all?  WhatDidUJustCallMe?

Also, I don't have mermaids even when I have Island Paradise installed and I'm playing in Isla Paradiso. I don't see them swimming around like before on my old computer. No NPC with scales as well. What did I do wrong?

Hello again,

Basically, you will need to do the research on your own, namely on the sites where you got the CC from. However...stuff like hairstyles, clothes or makeup are usually less problematic, so that they can often be used in later game versions too.

Things like mods (which modify in-game functions) are on the other hand highly problematic and need to be updated for every new patch.

In your case, try renaming the folder "The Sims 3" into anything. You can find that folder in Documents/Electronic Arts. Then start a (temporary) fresh game and see if you encounter more of these glitches. Good luck !

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply again. Oh my... [been busy with work]

I just remove all the CCs except for a few hair and make up. Did help a little but still lags. But whats odd is I notice it only happens when I'm in Isla Paradiso. I enrolled in University without lag. A few glitches still but it doesn't lag like when I'm at home. I also removed my store fix. But I want to install store items but I'm afraid it will make my game more glitchy.

I still need to try renaming my folder. Can this help with my mermaid problem?

Try renaming the folder; and if it still persists, you can simply delete the freshly created "The Sims 3"-folder, and rename the old one back to normal. And the reason your game lags in Isla Paradiso is because the world is very demanding in terms of system requirements. As a workaround, try lowering some or even all graphics settings, and maybe even play in "windowed mode". Good luck again. Smile
