Is there a specific reason why you'd want to do so?
Since there is no real installer, the only way is - for as far as I know - as follows: uninstall The Sims 4 and remove all leftover files. Then restart your PC and reinstall the base game only. Note that you'll not be able to have the latest game version this way, since some of the DLCs require Get to Work.

I just wanted to make some space on my hard drive.

No, of course not, it's up to you what you want to do. I was just curious.
Anyway, I don't mean uninstalling it and never playing it again. I just meant uninstalling everything and then reinstalling only the base game. So you'll still be able to play the base game, but not with the latest updates and DLCs.
Alternatively, if you have more space available on another drive, you can move the game to another drive, as explained here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t19572-how-to-move-the-sims-4-to-another-partition-after-installation-fix
