That would be what, a coupon for a free meal that costs more than the actual meal?

Yes! It is like Wednesday, I went to the drive thru of McDonald's, then they have that thing you have to scratch and you MAY get a prize. Well, I got a Diet Coke, but it was only valid if I entered the drive through and took the line AGAIN! Who goes at McDonald's to just take a diet coke (SMALL)? Of course they want you to buy another meal and throw the extra soda away because the one that comes with the meal is too large already (and if you get just the sandwich with fries you only save about 30 cents, so you pay for it anyway).Anarchy wrote:Admin wrote:Don't forget about those so-called "Season Passes"!

I know, nobody has to go there, but when you are with your "kids" (in my case, my brother and my mother, yep), you gotta go where you gotta go (I am ok with their stuff, but I think it's an overpriced cr@p).
It remembers me of those Facebook games where you can only roll the dice twice a day, then you have to pay or wait 8 hours to "play again", ha ha ha! It's like those drug sellers that give you free samples, both the legal and the illegal kind
Anyway, I am glad we have our own community fighting for this and we can have fun in an affordable and fair way! They would make already too much money if the game sold for 3 or 4 dollars each licence (and maybe two dollars each expansion), it is just unfair...
I wish you all a happy weekend!!!

Re: You can't steal without EA...
As with the rest of the things, it is basically* up to the consumers what they make of it. As for me, I only rarely see DLC stuff that adds good content to an existing game. Mostly, these DLC/season passes and whatnot focus only on multiplayer items or maps. Which is not bad either of course, but in the end, not really worth the money that you need to pay for these.
Oftentimes, I actually wait a while with buying games that I am interested in. After a while (sometimes about half a year or so) you can already find good bargains, like games that already include a bunch or even all of the DLC. And in a few cases, game publishers give out DLC for free, like with EA's "Titanfall" recently.
Of course, in that case you cannot go up to other people and say "hey I played all the latest DLC at first !!!", but then, if you are in need of being able to play all DLCs "before anybody else", then you have other more serious problems anyway.
That's off-topic, but if you happen to travel through a country where you do not like the local cuisine, these chains like Mc Donalds, Starbucks and whatnot, might still be an option to think about. As dubious as their business practices, environmental policies, etc. are.
As for me, I don't go that often to McDonalds, but not so much because of any "moral concerns" or the like. Mainly because in my country, those meals - as well as most other consumer products - are expensive as hell, primarily because of the high tax rates. Which is usually at 20% on consumer products. In some cases even more. But again, that's off-topic.
*note: there may be exceptions to this rule and further differentiations, to which I will get back in a different topic.

But... food is always 6% here. I assume your local McDonald's charges less than 20% tax... right?

Sorry for the late reply coolcandy, but you can always open a new thread yourself. I was actually thinking of splitting the posts and moving them to a new topic, but I think it is less confusing if a brand-new thread is opened.
